Who We Are
We are John and Taylor Battaglia– husband and wife, followers of Jesus Christ, and co-hosts of Unpolished Prayer. Together, we share a passion for helping people know God more deeply, experiencing His power and presence through Scripture and prayer. Over the years, we have met countless people who love God but feel frustrated, intimidated or disconnected when it comes to prayer. Many have been taught that prayer is important, yet few have been shown how to experience it as a genuine relationship with God.
Consistency in prayer is not the goal; it is the natural byproduct of transformed belief.

Why This Podcast Exists
Many people feel stuck in their prayer life. Some don’t know how to pray. Others feel guilty, distracted, discouraged or convinced that prayer simply isn’t for them.
Unpolished Prayer exists to help people rediscover prayer– not as a performance to perfect, but as an authentic conversation with a loving Father.
Through honest discussions, biblical teaching, personal stories and practical encouragement, we hope to help listeners move from obligation to connection and from uncertainty to confidence in prayer.

Prayer has always been connected to God’s mission in the world. As our hearts become aligned with His, we cry for His Kingdom to come- to our neighbors and to the nations. We are passionate about seeing people encounter Christ, both in our local communities and around the world.
